Yahoo ups the ante with APIs

Cool info about Yahoo APIs becoming available via an article at ZDnet.

an excerpt:

Yahoo has announced four new APIs for its Developer Network: Photos, Calendar, MyWeb and Shopping. The Shopping 2.0 API is available now, while the Photos, Calendar and MyWeb read/write APIs will be available soon [updated – thanks Jeffrey]. While they’ll be free to use for non commercial purposes, Ash Patel (Yahoo chief product officer) tells us there are commercial offerings coming soon.

This opens up a whole lot of possiblities for all kinds of cool mashups, and will probably make yahoo much more valuable for end users, with things like click here to add an event to your calendar. This along with yahoo’s reminders that send to cell phones, may make outlook pretty much obsolete. (Thank God!)
