Blu-ray or HD

This has been much discussion about the future of digital video discs or DVDs in what format will win  over consumers and the market. Well with things like video on demand services already on the internet that broadcast in high definition or HD on your HD monitor or HD television I  believe it will be a HD world in the future not a blu-ray universe as Sony Corperation had hoped for. Americans have already been shopping around for HD products and will continue to do so and I think at this point all blu-ray can hope for is dual format players that are sold at lower or same prices as other HD players on the market. The adult industry as also weighing in on this war with making most if not all of its next generation of adult dvds on HD DVDs tells me that high definition is the way to go when investing in the next generation of entertainment technology for your home or office.

  1. I think you are totaly right the next generation of DVDs is going to be an HD DVD revolution not a blu-ray. Was a good try by Sony to take over the American market but who knows they may win over the Asain DVD market.

  2. Ummm, maybe you don’t realise, but blu-ray is just as much an HD format as HD DVD….in fact currently blu-ray is able to support an even higher definition than HD DVD…

  3. With the latest announcements regarding 2008 releases, as well as the big news that BlockBuster Video will ONLY be renting Blu-Ray chainwide i think this article is of a dying breed.

Consumers and studios have already chosen Blu-Ray with 2:1 sales over HD-DVD and now, retailers are starting to follow suit by giving Blu-ray more shelf space in more lucrative spots.

I just feel bad for all the people who are wasting their money on HD-DVD players right now because they are just gonna end up switching to Blu in a year or two.
